At Aylesbury UTC we have high professional expectations for our school community. The way in which students dress and present themselves is a key factor. Our uniform is updated for September 2024.
This style aligns with the professional attire commonly found in the healthcare and digital sectors, many of which our students will progress into after leaving Aylesbury UTC. We believe this will provide a more professional and cohesive feel for our school environment, while still being comfortable for everyday wear.
The school rules on jewellery are as follows:
Pupils will be advised that jewellery is their personal responsibility and not that of the school. Lost or damaged items will not be refunded. All jewellery must be removed during practical lessons, including PE lessons and science experiments.
Pupils must use an appropriately-sized waterproof bag to carry their books and equipment. It must hold A4-sized workbooks comfortably without causing any damage.
School bags featuring inappropriate images, slogans or phrases will not be permitted.
The school will discourage pupils from bringing valuable bags to school. The school will not be liable for lost or damaged school bags.

The school rules on makeup and cosmetics are as follows:
Pupils wearing excessive makeup will be required to remove it.
Aylesbury UTC reserves the right to make a judgement on whether a pupil’s hairstyle, hair colour or headwear is inappropriate for the school environment. However, the school will ensure that any such judgements do not discriminate against any pupil by virtue of their protected characteristics. Each individual pupil’s scenario will be taken into account where any judgements on appropriateness are to be made, and parents will always have the freedom to complain via Aylesbury UTC’s Complaints Procedures Policy.
Pupils with long hair must ensure that this does not impede their vision, cover their face, or cause a health and safety risk. Long hair must be tied up during practical lessons, e.g. during PE.
The following hairstyles, hair colours and headwear are not considered appropriate for school:
Leggings will not be permitted. Skin-tight clothing will not be permitted and shorts, trousers and shirts should be appropriate for the workplace.
For Sixth Form, students can wear a shirt and tie with formal trousers and a jacket. You may also wear trousers or a skirt/dress of reasonable length with a smart top / blouse and jacket. Black/dark trainers and smart shoes are permitted. This dress code will allow you to choose clothing from a wide range of retail outlets rather than confining you to a uniform shop.
The new uniform can be purchased online from our official uniform supplier, Border Embroideries. You can browse the full uniform range, view sizing guides, and place your order securely on their website
